Anglers pursue big, healthy fish in the waters of RD Barje throughout the year. The most renowned are the greedy huchens of the Ljubljanica river, followed by the cautious carps of the Iščica and the feisty pikes from lake Krimsko jezero. Other fishing areas include Mali Graben, the Iška river, Rakitna pond, Strahomer pond, Želimeljščica, and Škofeljski graben. All anglers are warmly welcome - whether they prefer spinning, fly fishing, or carp fishing. RD Barje has a proud tradition dating back to 1955. Its members are not only passionate anglers, but also devoted guardians of nature and fans of the Ljubljansko barje wetlands. More than just fishing connects them - it’s also friendship that binds them together.
